Youth Service 2023
JUNIOR YOUTH
The Bible is a central text in the Christianity, and it has had a significant influence on the world for thousands of years. Comprised of 66 books written by various authors in ancient Israel, the Bible is revered by many people as the Word of God and is often used as a source of guidance, inspiration, and instruction.
In our youth studies, the Bible is often viewed as a valuable resource for helping young people to understand and navigate the challenges of growing up. It contains many stories and teachings that can help youth to develop important virtues such as compassion, forgiveness, and courage. It also offers guidance on topics such as relationships, personal responsibility, and moral decision-making, which can be especially relevant for teenagers as they navigate the complexities of adolescence and young adulthood.

One of the main ways that the Bible is used in our youth studies is through Bible study groups or classes. These groups often meet on a regular basis, and they provide a space for youth group to come together and learn more about the Bible and its teachings. Through discussion and reflection, youth member can learn about the stories and teachings of the Bible and how they relate to their own lives.
Bible study groups can take a variety of forms, depending on the specific goals and focus of the group. Some groups may be more structured and may use a specific curriculum or study guide to guide their discussions. Others may be more informal, allowing participants to bring their own questions and ideas to the table. Regardless of the specific approach, Bible study groups provide a space for young people to engage with the text in a meaningful way and to explore its teachings and themes in a supportive and respectful environment.
In addition to being used as a source of spiritual guidance and inspiration, the Bible can also be used as a tool for critical thinking and personal growth. Many young people find that reading and studying the Bible helps them to develop their critical thinking skills and to understand their own beliefs and values more deeply. It can also be a source of comfort and support during times of difficulty or uncertainty, as the stories and teachings of the Bible often offer hope and encouragement.
For example, the story of David and Goliath in the Old Testament can be seen as a metaphor for overcoming seemingly insurmountable challenges. The story of Jesus and his teachings of love and compassion can serve as a model for how to live a virtuous and meaningful life. These are just a few examples of the many ways that the Bible can be used to inspire and guide young people as they navigate the ups and downs of growing up.
Therefore, this is one of the most significant initiatives in our church. Our youth fellowship. encourages and engages young people by establishing an inclusive environment that acts as a learning platform, boosting their confidence to make great life choices via leadership education, religious study, and worship activities. The goal of these teachings is to show students how religion may help them become better citizens and contributors in society. The Bible is an important and influential text that has played a significant role in the lives of young people for centuries. Whether used as a source of spiritual guidance, a tool for personal growth, or both, the Bible has the potential to make a positive impact on the lives of young people and to help them navigate the challenges of growing up. Whether through formal Bible study groups or more informal exploration and reflection, it can also be a valuable resource for young people as they seek to understand themselves and the world around them.
SUNDAY SCHOOL
Samoan Presbyterian Church is a monotheistic religion based on the belief in one God and the teachings of Jesus Christ, who is considered the son of God and the saviour of humanity. We follow the teachings of Jesus and seek to live a life that reflects his example of love, compassion, and selflessness.
The Bible is the holy scripture of Christianity, containing the teachings of God and the history of the faith. It is divided into two main sections: the Old Testament, which contains the Hebrew scriptures, and the New Testament, which contains the teachings of Jesus and the early Christian church, it also offers guidance, inspiration, and comfort for our lives.

Our Sunday School is an important part of our church, offering kids the opportunity to learn about the Bible, Jesus, and the teachings of the faith in a fun and interactive way. Through engaging activities, stories, and discussions, it also helps children to develop a deeper understanding of the Christian religion and how it applies to their own lives.
But Sunday School is about more than just learning about the Bible. It is also a place where kids can build community, make friends, and experience the love of God. For many children, Sunday School is a place where they feel accepted, valued, and supported, no matter who they are or what they are going through. It is a place where they can ask questions, explore their faith, and grow in their relationship with God.
So, what can you expect at a typical Sunday School class for kids? Classes will begin with a time of singing and prayer, setting the tone for the lesson and helping kids to focus their hearts and minds on God. This is often followed by a lesson from the Bible, delivered by a group or of our trained volunteers which might be a story from the Old Testament, a parable from Jesus, or a passage from the New Testament. The lesson is usually accompanied by an activity or craft that helps kids to better understand and remember the story.
After the lesson, there is often a time for discussion, where kids can ask questions and share their thoughts and ideas about the story and its meaning. This is a great opportunity for kids to learn from one another and explore the teachings of the faith in a deeper way. Our Sunday School teacher plays a key role in facilitating this discussion, guiding kids to think critically and consider how the story applies to their own lives.
But Sunday School is not just about learning from a teacher or a lesson. It is also about building relationships and experiencing the love of God through the community of believers. As kids participate in Sunday School, they have the chance to make new friends, support one another, and serve their community. This helps them to grow in their faith and feel a sense of belonging and purpose.
We believe that Sunday School plays a vital role in the faith journey of many Christian children.
